I once read that entrepreneurship is an exploration of self, of manifesting personal change in the form of creative projects, for all the world to see. One of those creative projects that has sprung out of this flower farming adventure is our on-farm workshop series. Flowers have a way of begging, even demanding, to be shared and it is from this origin that our workshop series was born. We have a great line-up of classes for 2018, beginning with this Sunday's Forcing Bulbs & Branches class. For me, March is high season for spring fever and I find myself desperate for anything green. Forcing bulbs and branches indoors has been a great way for me to keep the fever at bay by focusing on even a few tiny green shoots on my windowsill. I am SUPER excited to have Karen Brennan of Artful Eye Photography join us again for not one, but two photography classes this summer! She will be teaching a Beginner's class as well as an Intermediate class for folks looking to dive deeper into photography. We will have several opportunities for you to get your hands on some flowers at our Field to Vase and Flower Crown classes this summer. We had so much fun last year at these popular classes -- my favorite part was letting everyone loose in the fields to pick whatever they wanted for their masterpieces. In November and December, we will be hosting several wreath making classes as well as a holiday centerpiece class. I grow a wide variety of dried flowers specifically for use in these classes and have lots of other seasonal details to incorporate into your wreath to give it a special creative touch - keep it earthy or add some holiday bling! Without community, farming would be lonely and sad....we hope our farm is a place where you can come to have fun with loved ones, meet new flower friends, smell the fresh air, get your hands dirty, and learn something new!
