Flower Photography

8/28/2017

Last week we hosted a Flower Photography Workshop here on the farm. What a great way to spend a summer evening! Everyone had so much fun, learning some new skills, meeting fellow photography friends, and spending time in the flower fields. We were honored to have Karen Brennan of Artful Eye Photography teach the class - she is an amazing photographer with a wealth of information to share.

We spent some time in the workshop reviewing a few fundamentals of photography including lighting, aperture, composition, and camera gear. Then we headed outside to put our skills to use! Karen roamed around, spending time individually with each person answering questions, making suggestions, sharing tips, etc. I really enjoyed this portion of the class and learned so much talking to others about their cameras, and especially getting some advice from Karen about different shots, camera settings, and lighting.

It was clear everyone (including me!) was eager and anxious for more classes! We hope to host another photography class that will go a little more in depth on taking the plunge into shooting in manual mode and more advanced camera settings. Stay tuned for details! In the meantime, please enjoy this sampling of submitted photos from the class participants! THANK YOU to Karen and everyone who attended!!!
